Baby Driver
Edgar Wright, director of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End, is back, but this time he doesn't have Simon Pegg or Nick Frost on board.
Instead it is Jamie Foxx and Kevin Spacey in this crime thriller that will no doubt feature some witty one liners in the dialogue.
Hopefully Jamie Foxx can redeem himself after the very poor SLEEPLESS that could be an insomnia cure if it wasn't for all the gun play, and of course it doesn't need to be said that Kevin Spacey will bring his A game as he doesn't know how not to.
Blade Runner 2049
Ridley Scott may not be attached to this, but from a perusal of the trailer you wouldn't know it as it screams all of his signature markings at us, and with Harrison Ford returning, and Ryan Gosling attached in the lead role, it is looking as if few fans of the original are going to be disappointed.
War for the Planet of the Apes.
Bring it on.
This is the one for me.
Forget the Tim Burton movie. In fact take it and put it in a cupboard, lock the door and throw away the key.
If you want some ape action then the originals will do the job, and the current batch in the franchise will blow your mind.
When this lands I will be watching the two previous movies back to back and then heading straight to the cinema to wallow in all things ape related.
King Arthur:Legend of the Sword
Guy Ritchie has come along with since he dominated in the gangster genre, but with The Man from UNCLE not performing that well in cinemas he will be looking for a hit, and with the Charlie Hunnam playing King Arthur he might just have it.
That being said The Man from UNCLE was a far better film that box office receipts would suggest.
So regardless of how many people do go and see this it could still be an enjoyable romp.
The Mummy
The reimagining of the Universal classic horror series has not been going well.
The Wolfman and Dracula: Retold has seen the studio struggle with the material and they are still looking for an audience for the franchise.
Maybe attaching Tom Cruise to this and upping the action stakes is the answer, but the jury is out, and this is a matter of us all just having to wait and see if they can get the train back on the tracks.
